Saw Kelvin for a knee issue that came from overuse and he managed to fix it well enough for me to complete a long run that same Sunday. He also diagnosed the discomfort I was feeling during dumbbell presses and identified a tight rotator cuff as the cause. After he treated the area, I felt immediate relief!

Highly recommend Kelvin if you’re dealing with similar sports-related injuries. He’s knowledgeable and patient and explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand. 🙂
The physiotherapist is friendly and knowledgeable

My go to physiotherapy clinic. If you have an acute problem that won’t go away, look for Sylvia (love her no-nonsense approach), or Ernie (who listens and methodically addresses your aches and pains)!
I recently suffered another injury and returned to Core Concept for treatment with their Principal Therapist, Chye Tuan. I had strained my lower back and side abdominal muscles while doing a Pilates rolling-back exercise at home. Chye Tuan was able to identify the source of the pain almost immediately and helped relieve my back pain significantly. What I particularly appreciate about him is that he explains the source of the pain as he carefully works through the affected tissues during the treatment. How the muscles may overcompensate and strain. His clear explanations and precise approach make the whole process reassuring and effective.
Isaac is able to prep patient ahead of treatment, and anticipate the level of pain. His patience and assurances are a huge plus.
I sought treatment at Core Concepts @ Novena for persistent left knee pains and buckling issues, and worked with Isaac, Caleb & Joyce. Prior to consultation at Core Concept, my knee pains were so bad that at times, I had to climb stairs one step at a time.

Isaac was very helpful & extremely knowledgeable. His diagnosis was spot on & the targeted physiotherapy program he recommended to strengthen specific muscle areas worked wonders. In less than a month, the buckling had stopped and the knee pains gone.

Joyce and Caleb were very friendly & patient in correcting my form and guiding me through the recovery process. I’m thrilled with the results.
Huge thanks to Isaac, Caleb, and Joyce !

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Ankle and Foot Pain

There are various degrees to an ankle sprain. Most ankle sprains are simple and can heal on their own with care.

If you have a simple ankle sprain that feels sore after falling or landing on your foot wrongly; simply perform R.I.C.E. However, if your ankle pain is so severe that you are unable to place weight on your ankle or if it is swollen and does not go away in a couple of days.

There are certain methods to lower your risk of ankle sprains – if you take part in sports or enjoy running, make sure you warm up before exercising.

This will reduce your risk of injuries greatly. Also; be sure to wear shoes with good support for the activities that you are using them for. Shoes with good support will help to absorb the shock of high impact sports such as running.

One can also make the choice to reduce the frequency of high impact sports and participate in lower impact sports like swimming instead.

Flat feet in themselves do not require treatment. Treatment is only necessary if you are experiencing pain in your foot.

Our physiotherapists will firstly assess your foot to determine the cause of the pain and determine the most suitable treatment plan to resolve it.

Treatment methods could range from manual therapy, exercise therapy or custom orthotics.

Yes, it is best to see a physiotherapist when an ankle sprain occurs.

If you do not treat the injury, you will be more prone to repeated ankle sprains, leading to further pain and disability.

There are 4 ways in which ankle sprains can be treated effectively;

  • Restoring good single leg balance
  • Pain management – Rest, ice, compression, elevation, advice regarding anti-inflammatory medication
  • Restoring full movement of the ankle joint
  • Restoring full strength of ankle joint

Achieving each of these will be done by a variety of manual treatments, stretching and strengthening exercises

Your physiotherapist will discuss your goals, time frames and training schedules with you to optimise you for a complete return to sports, work and daily activities.
