Gait Analysis – Analysing your walking/running biomechanics
One of the most common injuries involving the knee is an anterior cruciate ligament tear. An anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, injury is a tear in one of the knee ligaments. The ACL keeps the knee stable by restraining excessive forward motion of the shin bone. When an ACL injury occurs, the knee becomes unstable. The injured ACL is less able to control knee movement, making sudden pivoting movements difficult. This may predispose the knee to developing cartilage tears and arthritis.
Persons with an ACL injury usually complain of the knee buckling or giving way, sometimes with pain and swelling. Participation in sports such as soccer, gymnastics and basketball that require pivoting, cutting and sudden turns may prove difficult. If left untreated, the chance of re-injuring the knee is increased.
However, having an ACL injury should not stop you from playing your favorite sport. By analyzing your body’s biomechanics, we can advise on what is best for you.

End the end of the analysis session, you will get a CD containing videos of your gait along with corrective recommendations for your reference.
